Hi, I am Upendo Mollel, and my passion lies in the preservation and well-being of our beloved bees.

In 2023, I set up my beekeeping business in Arusha, Tanzania, with the support of my mentor, beekeeper Mr Adam Kossioris from Greece, with whom I worked on establishing a bee project at the Friedkin Conservation Fund.

Building on my field experience, I also founded an NGO dedicated to supporting local communities. I have worked extensively with organizations such as Hand in Hand, the Friedkin Conservation Fund, and Wild Survivors, delivering beekeeping programs that have trained over 250 women in beekeeping, candle making, and natural cosmetics.

Professionally, I manage and service over 700 beehives. I also run a shop offering bee products, natural cosmetics, and professional beekeeping equipment.

As essential elements of our ecosystem, bees have faced significant challenges in recent years due to overproduction, climate change, and water scarcity.

The traditional practice of beekeeping has deep roots among Tanzanian tribes, but a lack of specialized knowledge combined with diminishing biodiversity has led to the abandonment of many hives.

My mission is to restore balance to the ecosystem through the power of bees and create the ideal conditions for them to carry out their vital role.

I am dedicated to sharing my knowledge, expertise, and lifelong passion with anyone who wishes to join me in this meaningful work, while also benefiting from sustainable honey production.
